For over 1,000 years, in a place called Oxford, England, it has been a renowned place for the romantics. Couples cuddle, as do students on every campus in the world. But 55 miles northwest of London, Oxford and the surrounding countryside have their own signature cozy experiences. Since it is so close to Valentine's Day, February the 14th, so here are 14 romantic Oxford moments:1. Just punt along the Rivers Thames or Cherwell as the glowing sun is winking through the trees. This here punting often strikes a romantic profile, with the gentlemen powering that little flat bottomed boat by a long pole, the lady ever so reclining gracefully. The Oxford couples have been doing this and renting punts for over the centuries on the River Thames, it is called by poetically the River Isis as it flows through Oxford. Punting in the town of oxford is the answer to the gondola. The guide recommends the Cherwell Boathouse on Bardwell Road. You can go off into this green world of willows, and then slip away into the backwaters. You leave behind all the hurly-burly of Oxford life.
2. Come stroll along the Addison's walk through the water meadows beside the Magdalen College. The Magdalen, was founded in the 1458, and has the most extensive grounds of any of the University's 39 colleges. Then lets cross the Magdalen Bridge to the leafy Addison's Walk, closely you will see deer park and Cherwell River.
3. So lets go for it, toast each other in a cozy nook at the most famous Turf Tavern, where the actors Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton often lifted a glass, and the Crown Prince of Japan courted his future wife. The Turf proudly proclaims that the "liquid based activities, were certainly occurring on this site" by the 13th century, and then promises each new generation of Oxford students "an education in intoxication." Bill Clinton studied the Turf's lessons while he was a Rhodes Scholar at the University College.
