We have all heard the lovely phrase "Have you defragged lately" when asking what is wrong with our slow moving computer. So instead of having to sit down with your Windows XP operated computer I will guide you step-by-step in conquering this easy, but overlooked task. Before getting started with this action I want to say that if you are not familiar with computer systems and how they operate please see a computer technician to assist you in performing any computer maintenance. If you are not familiar with computer operating systems it is very likely the system can become corrupt and unable to function properly if an opertaion is executed unproperly.

Now first of all you want to make sure you have all programs closed as this will help with speed and accuracy when performing a defrag. You will then bring your mouse cursor to your tool bar and click one single click on the green start button. Next move your cursor over "All Programs" allowing the cursor to highlight this section. Your sub menu should now extrude to the left of the screen. You should then see many programs that are installed on your system. Move your cursor to "Accessories" and allow the menu to once again extrude to the left. You now should see within the new menu that has just extruded an option called "System Tools". Now move your cursor to system tools and you should see within this menu "Disk Defragmenter". Now click on "Disk Defragmenter". Now you should see a program open with a Grey shaded box with some options on it.
