This simple Vintage Marble candle votive is the perfect gift that anyone can make for anyone who loves all things vintage. The beautiful and warm light from the candle will really look great shining through the vintage marbles.Almost anyone I know would love to get this beautiful and whimsical Vintage Marble candle votive.
Kids as young as 5 years old should easily be able to make this simple gift. Overall it should take about 30 minutes or less to make the whole project. The best part of this Vintage Marble candle votive is that it uses empty glass food jars you might have leftover from supper!
To Make This Vintage Marble Candle Votive You Will Need:
Empty Spaghetti or Pickle Jar (no lids)
Vintage Marbles (lots of them)
Hot glue or tacky glue
Christmas Ribbon
Candle (Pillar Candle or tea candle)
Now, the first step is to thoroughly clean your glass food jar. I like to use an ammonia base cleaner to make sure I get all of the sticky food label off of the outside of the empty glass jar.
Now, plug in your hot glue gun.
Go ahead and open your bag of Vintage Marble. You can use all one color or even mix and match a variety of Vintage Marble colors.
Now, Squeeze out some glue onto the back of the Vintage Marble. Press the Vintage Marble into the outside of the glass food jar. I like to start on the bottom edge of the glass jar and work my way up gluing on the Vintage Marbles.
Now, work around and around the glass jar. Work up attaching the Vintage Marbles until you get about 2/3 of the glass jar. Leave the top few inches plain.
Now, tie your ribbon around the mouth of the jar. You want to choose a ribbon that covers the mouth of the jar where the kids screws on. This will create more finished Vintage Marbles candle votive that makes a good gift.
Now, tie your ribbon offing a bow. Cut of the excess ribbon at an angle with your scissors or pinking shears.
I like the ribbon to be short.
Slip a tea candle or pillar candle into the Vintage Marbles candle votive and you are finished.
