West Virginia Festivals in May

Festivals, whether in the city or the country are a tradition in all parts of the county and they are a great opportunity to visit a new place and see the people like they really are, without all the tourist attractions. No matter how many festivals you attend, no two will be exactly the same. You can go to strawberry festivals in every state and not have the same experience twice. In West Virginia, there is a great variety of festivals held annually in May, celebrating food, music and culture. Take your pick, come for a great time and get to know the people of West Virginia up close and personal.

Buckhannon West Virginia is in the north central part of the state, in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, a perfect location for any type of festival and they do know how to celebrate the strawberry. They are still taking applications for the various events this year, so if you have a special talent, why not show it off. You don't have to be from Buckhannon, just be willing to show off.

Fire Departments from all over the state are invited to participate in the fireman's parade and 100 or so fire trucks makes for one spectacular site.
Stop in at the juried art show and see the works of the best local artists.

Every festival has a carnival, and this one is sure to have everything you expect in a carnival, rides, games and plenty of food.
There will be plenty of entertainment, a gospel sing, a golf tournament beauty pageants and so much more good county fun.
