I have been going nuts trying to find something that would meet my specifications for guided meditation. I really didn't want to order anything off of the Internet because I hate to send the money o something that I am not sure is going to work. I could end up spending a fortune just finding the right one for me.

So I decided to go on a hunt around Hot Springs to find what I was looking for. I went to Books-A-Million first because I figured that would be the most likely place to find what i am looking for. Wrong, they have books but no guided meditation Cd's. Okay no big deal I will just go to the mall to FYE surely they would have it. Wrong again. Although I did find a great three CD set of relaxing sounds. Then I went to Walden Books thinking maybe, just maybe they would have it. No such luck so I decided to look at Wal-Mart. I pretty much knew that would be a no go but I had to try.

So back online I go to search and search to find what I need. Well to my shock and amazement I found one that is free. This site will email you "lessons" on relaxing and meditation. The first lesson is mainly an introduction to their system but the second lesson has a guided meditation that you can either listen to online or you can download it to your computer. Did I mention this is FREE?

I really didn't expect a whole lot for free. So i was pleasantly surprised by the first meditation session. I found myself relaxing like I have not done in a long time. I was even able to go to sleep without having to take my sleeping pill. I have been taking these sleeping pills since January of last year. So to not have to take one to go to sleep was really shocking.

It recommended not laying down at first because of the possibility of falling asleep. I personally found that I just couldn't seem to relax good enough sitting up, but then again I was sitting on the bed Indian style so it was a tad bit difficult to relax my legs when they started going numb from sitting that way for so long. So, I lay down and got more comfortable. After that it was amazing how quickly I was able to get into the meditation and relax.

Julie, meditation is something I definitely need to try more often. I have done it before and I was surprised at how well it worked. I was very skeptical at first when I was told to do it. The fact that this is free would make me think it would be even easier to relax to. I soon as I get my speakers fixed I am checking this out. Thanks for the great article and information.
