Now that the Page View counters on Associated Content have been rolled out, each of us, as Content Producers, can better keep track of which articles of ours are being read, which are being ignored, and how our efforts at promoting our content are working. If you want to increase your Page Views - in essence, help yourself by helping Associated Content - it is important that you gain a following, a constant readership, a network of sorts. Here are some tips on how to develop a following on Associated Content.

1. Read and comment on other Content Producers' articles. By commenting on other Content Producers' articles, you are also providing yourself added exposure, particularly if you are commenting on articles that are receiving a lot of hits, like those featured on Associated Content's homepage. If your comments are interesting, pithy, even provocative, other readers will click on your name or avatar to check out who you are and what type of articles you have written. If you produce solid content, those readers will likely return, even sign up for your Buddy List.

2. Refer, refer, refer. Not only will you earn money for your referrals if Associated Content is holding a special promotion, but you will most likely develop a following, another group of readers who will be visiting Associated Content often to submit their own articles. Sign up to their Buddy Lists, and ask that they sign up for yours.

3. Use Associated Content's CP Tools, such as their banners that advertise that you are a bona fide Content Producer and request viewers to check out your content. Use these banners on your blog and in forums, especially writers' forums. This is an excellent tool to help you develop a following on Associated Content.

4. Write the occasional Op-Ed or Breaking News article, both of which tend to attract a good many readers. That is also a good way to find yourself featured on Associated Content's homepage.

These are great tips Jack. I have seen many of your articles. I actually had my first published on the homepage yesterday. Republicans For Obama. Your tips are right on. I kind of had to figure it out before I saw this. You are a wonderful writer. Thanks.

Good information, promotion is something I am not very good at. Guess I should get on the ball with that especially since the notification emails of content published isn't going out any more.

You forgot the easiest step: being the first to break the story when Ricky Martin flips off the President. It was gold, Jerry! GOLD!

Thanks for the tips. I know that I personally love reading what other people have posted on my articles just as much as I loved writing it. So the more traffic I can get the more I can see what people think.

Um, what if your just not funny? I guess I will have to work doubly hard on the other five suggestions, actually make that four because I can't refer anybody. No friends, I spend to much time writing for AC. Actually make that three because I don't know what an op-ed article is! LOL Thanks for the tips.
