People are often caught unprepared for various types of emergencies. Most of the emergencies that catch people off guard are those that involve natural disasters, such as tornados, hurricanes, floods, and more. There are other disasters that often affect people as well. These may include an outbreak of a virus, terrorist acts, and citywide blackouts. When you prepare an emergency supply kit, you should not prepare for just one type of emergency. You should take the time to prepare for the possibility of a variety of different events that could take place. In this article, I will review how you and your family can make an effective emergency supply kit.

When creating an effective emergency supply kit, you should first take into consideration the basics. One of the basics of any supply kit is the proper materials for first aid and sickness. Every effective emergency supply kit has a large first aid section. The first aid section of your emergency supply kit should include the following materials:

1) It is important to have at least two pair of latex gloves for each member of your family. If you have a family of four, you should have at least eight pairs of latex gloves.

2) You should ensure that your kit has at least two boxes Band-Aids that are assorted in size. When buying the Band-Aids, it is important to buy at least one box that is waterproof. This is especially important in areas that have flooding and many water sources - like lakes, beaches, and even rain.

3) In addition to Band-Aids, your supply kit should include various types of gauze and dressings. This will be extremely beneficial if anyone experiences a large cut and/or bleeding.

4) You should ensure that your emergency supply kit has the necessary materials to clean wounds. The types of materials that are ideal in this case are liquid soaps, alcohol, peroxide, and even unscented wipes.

RIF I make my kids each a first aid kit before they go to summer camp. I used to have a really good first aid kit for the house (I worked in a nursing home and was able to buy medical supplies at cost). Keeping a good supply of emergency first aid items on hand is important
