What is one of the most irritating new products? There's one that comes to mind that is irritating on several levels. Like a lot of healthcare products that are advertised nowadays, this one doesn't really work, is irritating to the skin, and the commercial for the product is really irritating. And now they have a new irritating commercial where someone tells you how irritating the first commercial really was. I'm, of course, talking about the HeadOn ... "apply directly to the forehead" headache treatment. HeadOn is a topical product intended for headache relief that is produced by a company called Miralus Healthcare. It is touted as a homeopathic treatment. Homeopathy is an alternative medicine that tries to treat disease using the "like with like" principle. It goes something like this: give the sick person extremely diluted doses of substances that in undiluted doses would make a healthy person sick. By increasing the dilution, you can increase the potency of the homeopathic drug. Clinical trials of these treatments have yielded mixed results, and I have heard quite a bit of testimony from friends and acquaintances that some of these remedies work wonders for them. I don't know. One thing I will agree with is the homeopathic view that diseases in different people differ fundamentally. So maybe the treatments work for some and not for others. And maybe there is a spiritual component like they claim.
