The Banter of the day, it weakens me,
my longing grows for shore and sea.
A weighted spirit, the ocean calls,
away from people, shopping malls.
Perpetual strength, true grace I seek,
before her might, concerns are meek.
She's different, she's new, she's ancient, forever,
open accepting, rejecting me never.
There on her shore, in silence I walk,
no needed response to vague, mindless talk.
A cleansing thought, to the sea I glance-swimming out, I commit to chance.
Take me down, o troubled sea,
'neath your wrath, I beg of thee.
Toss about my sordid soul,
cleanse me, feel me, make me whole.
Emerging fresh, I feel relief,
strong in spirit, my own belief.
Enchanted sea,
your eternal balance restores me.
