SoHo stands for the area South of Houston street. It is north of Tribeca, west of Little Italy and south of the West Village. Convenient to the clubs that the village is famous for and the shopping and restaurants in Little Italy will make you feel that you have taken a trip across the ocean. The adjacent neighborhoods are an important consideration. You will want to spend some of your time there as well as in your new neighborhood. SoHo does not have as much waterfront property as the neighboring areas and that helps to keep the prices a bit lower. For those who remember old New York, SoHo is the old Manhattan cast iron district. Just take a walk around the neighborhood, look at the buildings and you will know where that name came from.

SoHo today is famous for its art galleries. The large lofts in the old industrial buildings make perfect artists studios, and the local artists have make good uses of them. On an sunny day in spring and summer you can stroll the streets and view the art displayed in an unofficial street gallery. It is one of the most popular activities in the city. Just take a look at the number of tourists.

Spend a day in SoHo and see what it is all about. It is different than many of the Manhattan neighborhoods, with most of the real estate being lofts. Is has the most unusual one of a kind architecture of any of the Manhattan neighborhoods. Before you think about the real estate, make sure it is the place you want to call home. If you feel that SoHo is the place for you, then it is time to look at the real estate. The ones listed here are the low and high end of the scale. And not a complete listing of the real estate available in SoHo by far, but they will give you a good staring point and a bit of an idea on what it will cost. The higher end ones will be the largest and the ones with the best views. Take a look at everything available in your price range and ask questions.
