The conclusion of another football season is upon us. Obviously there are things I love about football and will miss now that the season is over. However, there are several reasons I am happy that pro football will not grace our television sets until preseason games start up in August. Without further ado, here is a list of things that I not miss now that the Super Bowl has come and gone. 1. Joe Buck. First, we were delighted to find out that Buck would not be announcing the BCS National Championship game. That was coupled with the fact that CBS would be having the Super Bowl this year, meaning Joe Buck would be done commentating after the NFC Championship Game. Now that football is over until next season, sports fans across the nation will not have to suffer the fate of listening to Joe Buck until baseball games return to Fox. We all are grateful for this break.
2. The Brett Favre watch. During the off season last year, the media concentrated on whether or not Favre would return. When it was learned that he would indeed play another season, once again the question was posed. Would Favre retire? Thankfully, we have found out already that he will be back for another year. I respect Favre and believe him to be one of the best to ever play the game, but I could use the break from watching him cry almost every time he walks off the field
3. T.O. This is more of a wish than a certainty. Chances are that the news will be filled with stories about Terrell Owens even though football is over with. Maybe we can all be lucky enough to be spared of T.O. getting media coverage for at least a couple of months. At least I don't have to worry about him having a press conference after every Dallas win or loss.
4. That Chevy commercial with the ridiculous John Mellencamp song. I cringe at the sound of "This Is Our Country," and God willing these awful ads will stop after the Super Bowl. Next year, Chevy, bring your "A" game to advertising sessions.
