Stretch marks are common in life. As a matter of fact, the majority of people will develop stretch marks at some point in their lives. You can get stretch marks by gaining or losing weight quickly, pregnancy, puberty, etc. Stretch marks begin as reddish, purplish lines that slowly fade over time. The stretch mark truly never disappears, yet it does fade to a light silvery color that is hardly noticeable. Although stretch marks are harmless to your health, they are unappealing to most that have them. There are a few precautionary measures you can take to try and prevent stretch marks.

First off, let's get this clear: precautionary measures taken to prevent stretch marks may not work for your body. Some people are genetically predisposed to stretch marks. It is inevitable that some time in their life they will see them appear. Others get stretch marks during pregnancy. This is extremely hard to prevent. As a matter of fact, about 70% of pregnant women develop stretch marks in the 7th month. Since belly growth occurs so quickly, stretch mark prevention may be close to impossible. However, for others, there are certain measures you can take to try and prevent the purple lines.

The first step anyone should take when trying to prevent stretch marks is a healthy diet. If your body is completely healthy, your skin will be completely healthy. This means elasticity will be at it's best. You should be sure to eat plenty of protein. Protein tends to strengthen collagen in the skin. The weakening of collagen produces stretch marks. Also, plenty of water intake is recommended. The more fluid your body contains, the more elastic your skin will be. If you skin is elastic enough, stretch marks will be prevented.

I like that you didn't try to sell a creme or oil with your article and stayed true to the facts, that can be proven to prevent stretch marks. Thanks.
