Milwaukee Police Department Police Blotter for February 18, 2009
Here's what's been happening in Milwaukee for the last two weeks, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
February 17, 2009—An off-duty Milwaukee police sergeant arrested a man guilty of a drunk driving-related car crash early this evening.
The suspect, a 54-year-old, rear-ended a car at a red light prior to fleeing the scene of the crash. The off-duty officer followed the suspect and was able to detain him until help arrived.
When police administered the sobriety test, they found the suspect's blood alcohol concentration to be twice the legal limit. This is the suspect's second drunk driving incident.
Neither party required medical attention.
February 16, 2009—Milwaukee police officers caught a thief red-handed stealing a water heater from a neighbor's basement.
The suspect broke into a house, took the water heater out of the basement, and drove it to his home. Police followed the suspect to another house where he began unloading the water heater into his own basement.
Police arrested the suspect, who is currently on parole for a 1990 homicide.
February 12, 2009—Milwaukee police are looking for two African American suspects who allegedly robbed a victim coming out of a grocery store.
One suspect was armed with a handgun and produced it to force the victim into handing over cash. Both suspects were wearing black clothing and black hats.
No arrests have been made.
February 6, 2009—Partners of the Milwaukee Police Department have arrested one of Milwaukee's top ten most wanted criminals.
Wesley Vann was wanted for false imprisonment and battery in an incident involving his ex-girlfriend and their child. He was arrested February 5, 2009.
February 5, 2009—Milwaukee police are looking for a white male suspect accused of robbing a pharmacy.
He is described as being middle-aged and was wearing dull clothing and cargo pants at the time of the crime.
No arrests have been made since the blotter was issued.
