The Power of Belief in Yourself
It happens quite often when we've set ourselves on a path to attain some goal, dream or desire and some of the people...or all of the people that are close to us think we're a little nuts for trying. Some of them even go so far as to try with all their might to dissuade you from pursuing
whatever it is you want to accomplish.
They'll tell you that there's no possible way you can do this or do that or only certain people are allowed to achieve that or this. They either don't believe in what you're doing or they're so afraid by something inside of them that they fear to take the risk of allowing themselves to openly believe in you.
That's just fine, because you believe and ultimately you're the only one who has to.
It's like standing alone at the base of a sheer mountain face when you want to be at the very peak. You're afraid of heights, you've never actually mountaineered before and can't see the top because it disappears into the clouds. But in your mind you know exactly what it looks like. You look up and spot what looks like to be a good hand hold, reach for it and pull yourself up. Now a foothold and another handhold.
Before long the ground appears just a little bit smaller. With each pull to the top, your vision becomes clearer...you can now maybe smell the air up there or you can feel the grass or snow as if it were already in your hands.
Slowly you climb higher, so intent on where you are going to end up that you no longer remember you're afraid of heights. An occasional slip, a hand or foot hold that does not hold, isn't a detterent. You simply catch yourself on one prior and reach again. Your mind won't allow you to fail, failure does not exist on this climb because you can visualize so vividly that you're already there. And you climb on.
Eventually, if your belief is strong enough and you've given yourself over to that belief...you'll rise from the top of those clouds as the Phoenix from ashes. You'll burst into the very world of your dreams and realize, that, yes...they do come true. All because you never gave up, all
because you kept your goal in sight, all because.....you believed.
