We have heard many times over and over again by a commentator or a sincere seeker that there are many paths to God. However, the sincere or capricious words of commentators does not give light to the fact that the previous thought is an utter lie. There are no many paths to God, just one. Many waste time concerning God: they seek after means of spiritual fulfillment, that at best, provide a temporary joy with little foundation to stand on. Yet, there is only are way to God, not because it is arrogant, but because it is true.
Jesus said, "No one comes to the Father but by me." Which means that God will not look upon sin, and since we have sin (all of us) he will not look upon us if we try to get to heaven in our prideful way. Yet, Jesus, our propitiation for sin, died in our place so that God will look upon us as he sees the love of Christ on us.
Jesus speak not in presumptuous terms, but in loving terms. He's trying to tell you there is no other way: you cannot seek another spiritual trip, you can't ignore the matter, you can't be good and be right with God; the way is Jesus.
"Only by me," says Jesus. Listen to him, He's telling the truth.
