Working in My Jammies
I was reading somewhere this week about women, and men for that matter that works at home. The article was going to work in your bathrobe I believe or something along that line. I wish I could remember where it was so I could refer it to you. It is funny the reactions you get when you
tell people you work from home, in your jammies. Most of the time you get the reaction you get is, "yeah, right." A lot of people find the notion a bit off the wall.
This is the beginning of my second year of working from home. Now let me clarify. Anyone, wither it is man or woman, that chooses to stay at home is doing a work at home job. No one ever said that cleaning toilets and making beds wasn't a job really did they? A year ago I started to work for a company from home. Since then I have expanded and work for several different companies. I have written on this subject before, but I know it is one of the most commonly searched for phrases in search engines. It is a big draw. Once people grasp the concept that, yes I really do a job, and that yes I really do get paid for it, they are all questions.
First I answer phones. This is a great job. I log in on the internet, they route calls to my phone and I follow scripts that pop up on my screen. Sometimes it is hard, and sometimes you get rude callers. I have to think at times like this; wouldn't they just be mortified if they knew that I was sitting here, in my jammies, with my hair piled on top of my head, with my kids doing school lessons in the next room? And here they are yelling bad words in my ear. But over all I love my job. There are some great companies out there to work for. But they mostly require the same things. You need a second phone line and high-speed internet. You have to be able to speak fluent English. But there is fast becoming a market for those that are bilingual.
