Did you decide from early on to choose writing as a career? Even if you answered yes, you're wrong.

You did not choose writing as a career, writing chose you.

From early on you may have always known you were a writer. Maybe you've always enjoyed the quiet solitude that comes with putting words on paper.

Your life's ambition may always have been to write. Perhaps you excelled in your vocabulary, reading comprehension, spelling, verbalabilities, grammar, literature, composition, and creative writing in school. In your heart and in your soul you know you're a writer.

Here are the ways writing seeped into your consciouness and lead you to a career as a wriiter.

Writing is the Right Career For You If

Writing is the Right Career For You if: You dream about your Pulitzer acceptance speech the same way others imagine their Academy Awards acceptance speech.

Writing is the Right Career For You if: When You play with words in your head. People who are good with math, and those who lean towards numbers do the same things with numbers that you do with words. Do you combine words, change words and look for word plays and synonyms in your head?

Writing is the Right Career For You if: You keep a list of favorite words. Somewhere, in a special notebook, on the post-its attached to you computer screen, or on your web site, you have a list of your favorite. The list is of words that are fun to say, sound cool, or have an important meaning.

Writing is the Right Career For You if: When You are always pre-writing. When every activity is an opportunity for pre-writing you know you're a write. When writing ideas and sentences flow through you while you shower, drive the car or sweep the floor, you are pre-writing.

Writing is the Right Career For You if: Even in your dreams, you are writing something: putting pen to paper or hands to keyboard, or composing sentences even during sleep.

Writing is the Right Career For You if: You love words. Words thrill you. Words excite you.
