A years or so ago, I was also one of those person. Each morning, when the alarm was ringing, I'd hit the alarm to get 10 minutes of sleep... and then another 10 minutes... until I would only have 20 minutes left to eat, shower and take the bus.

I would discuss this matter with friends, and I soon discovered I wasn't alone. The problem is mainly one thing : the "fog" in your brain. When you are not fully alert, your willpower is almost at zero, so it's really easy to get back to sleep.

I had a friend, though, that could get up almost instantly. The key was within an advice his father gave him, and now I am going to share this with you too, so you can enjoy getting up without losing time.

But first, let's face the real problem : you do not have enough discipline to get up when you're still sleepy. And it would be really hard to get that discipline, because it's easy while you are alert but while you are sleepy... it's another thing. So, instead, we are going to use a method I call "Autopilot wake-up". The key here is to practice getting up.

Did I just say practice getting up? But you can't, since you are here to learn how to get up. So how could we do it? How could one practice getting up and be successful everytime? Well... you just need to practice getting up in the day.

Here's how to do it :

1 - Go in your bedroom, and darken the place like it would be in the morning.
2 - Set your alarm for a couple of minutes later
3 - Now, lie down on your bed (if you got glasses, remove them, just like it would be in the morning after a long night of sleep).
4 - Mentally imagine it's the morning and the alarm is going to run off soon
5 - As soon as the alarm rings, just close it, breath deeply and get up. Then, just do whatever you would do in the morning (myself I brush my teeth).
6 - Rinse and repeat.
