My eyes were just opened to a new movie, thanks to bzzagent.com. It appears that Jim Carrey, who has not been appearing in many movies in recent years, is taking on a new role. Though he has painted himself into a career of comedy roles, this role is far from usual. No longer just a comedian, Jim Carrey is experimenting with a lead role in a new psychological thriller. In The Number 23, his character explores the enigma surrounding the number 23.

What is the obsession with the number 23? The number 23 has been seen in many forms throughout life. In biology, we learn that each parent gives their baby 23 chromosomes, the 23rd of which determines the babies gender. When flowing properly, your blood takes 23 seconds to fully circulate.

Biology isn't the only place that the number 23 has been known to play a role. History is also a factor. When Julius Caesar was killed, he was stabbed 23 times. When Alexander The Great cut the Gordian Knot, it was believed that he was 23 years old. The Mayan calendar ends on December 23, 2012 as a prediction of the Apocalypse.

The mystery surrounding the number 23 has been used in many books, including Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea's trilogy, Illuminatus!. In fact, the number 23 plays a big role in the production of this movie as well. The Number 23 began filming on January 23, 2006. Jim Carrey, the lead actor, has his own production company - JC23 Entertainment. The movie is schedule to hit theaters on February 23, 2007.

In The Number 23, Jim Carrey plays Walter Sparrow, a man who finds a book titled The Number 23. As he continues to read the book, he realizes the eerie similarities between his life and the life in the book. He becomes convinced that the book is based on his own life, and it ends in a murder that has yet to happen. His character starts trying to avoid the upcoming events of the book, only to discover that there are greater consequences than he could ever imagine.
