During the long months of winter you cannot always make it out to the gym or take that early morning jog when the snow is coming down faster than the plows can sweep it up. In the last seven days I have only been able to make it to the gym twice but I have still managed to fit satisfying workouts into my day. From the comfort of my living room I have been able to download and exercise through a different workout video everyday.

There are several online sites that have free workout videos to download for the beginner to the advanced viewer. This week alone I have been able to get in an hour long yoga workout, strength training for my arms, legs and back, learned new pilates stretches and discovered kickboxing. The following are some of my favorite online sites that have a variety of workout videos for free.

From Shape and Fitness Magazine

Both these websites are great places to find workout advice, moves and videos. The Fitness wesite has several workout videos free to download and view over and over again ranging from yoga to ten minute calorie busting routines to area specific moves. My favorite for early morning is the hour long yoga workout that takes you from very easy beginner moves to more advanced poses. You can do as much or little of the routine as you are comfortable with. They also have great 8 minute yoga workouts for the times when you are looking to wind down. Shape also offers several workouts that feature individual moves and details the calories lost with each set of repetitions and how to correctly perform each move. They do have a set of three workout videos that you can download once you register, but they can only be downloaded once.

Thank you for the links! It's very time consuming to go to the gym several times throughout the week, when the whole exercise can take less than an hour at home. I have been searching online for a while now...

Great tips, but I am confident I can come up with an excuse not to follow them.
