You can make this frame for a friend, Mother, Father, Grandparent or child to show them how much you mean to them by making them a homemade gift. This is a great craft for kids although you will need to supervise them since it relies heavily on glue and cutting with scissors. You will need a photograph that you want to frame, eight Popsicle sticks, markers, glue, scissors, cardboard box, and yarn. If you want to decorate your picture frame, you can look for things to glue around the edges. Some things may work better then others but they should be able to lie flat and fit with out blocking the picture. You can try using different sized buttons, stickers, silk flowers, wrapping paper or fabric.
Now to make the frame you will place the Popsicle sticks around the photograph to check the size. Popsicle sticks are about 4.5 inches long, so your photo may need to be trimmed down a bit to fit inside. There are several different ways to design the frame; you can use the sticks by layering the first one on top of the other to form a corner. Be creative find different ways to stack them side by side or make it look like a tic tac toe board. Use your glue to stick the sticks together and let it dry over the next few hours.
Now that your frame is put together and drying, you can move on to getting the picture ready for the frame. Put your picture on your box and trace around the edges. Cut the cardboard down leaving a half an inch of extra space around the outline you drew. Place the photograph in the center of the cardboard and make sure you can see the lines. Use your glue to attach the photograph to the middle of the cardboard.
