The big lie that has become more than more than an urban legend, it's become a bona fide myth, is that the day after Thanksgiving is the busiest shopping day of the year. In fact, it rarely is even in the top three. This year let's vow to move the day after Thanksgiving out of the top ten.

The day after Thanksgiving has taken a turn for the better in recent years. It has become the official foundation of the anticonsumer movement: International Buy Nothing Day. Think of it. Make a statement by staying home. Or better yet, make a statement by going to Walmart, getting one of those precious carts, and walking around without actually buying anything.
