Coeur D'Alene, Idaho is a city with a lot to do. Coeur D'Alene is in the northern part of the state of Idaho. The city of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho has a population of almost 35,000 people. Coeur D'Alene has an elevation of 2,157 feet. Being the largest city in the northern part of the state of Idaho makes it the busiest part of the northern part of Idaho. Coeur D'Alene is near the western border of the state of Idaho.

Coeur D'Alene, Idaho is named after a local tribe of American Indians. The French trappers who were in the area named the American Indian tribe, that made the area there home, Coeur D'Alene which means heart of the awl. Coeur D'Alene means they were shrewd traders.

In the year l878 General William Tecumseh Sherman established an army post at the place where the Spokane River runs into the Lake of Coeur D'Alene.

The North Idaho College is now sitting on the spot that the old fort once sat.

Coeur D'Alene Lake is just south of the city of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. The Coeur D'Alene Lake is a popular vacation and resort lake. The Coeur D'Alene Lake has beaches, parks and docks for the outdoor enthusiast to enjoy. You can enjoy boating, house boating, swimming, water skiing, parasailing and fishing on the Coeur D'Alene Lake. Along the Coeur D'Alene Lake you can find hiking trails that lead to panoramic views, cove and beaches.

A floating boardwalk runs from Independence Point in the Coeur D'Alene city park to Third Street. This floating boardwalk is over 3,000 feet long and it a very interesting attraction in the city of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.

Coeur D'Alene has good shopping to the shopping enthusiast. There are tow antiques malls in Coeur D'Alene. You can find some dine antiques in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.

I don't golf, but I got a kick out of the golf course with the floating hole when I did the boat tour around the northern end of the lake there.
