2009 Prom-Fast Dances that Can Get Everyone Going

New Songs, Old Songs and Cheesy Songs to Have Fun with on the Dance Floor

Prom 2009 plans are reaching the final stages. Music committees are choosing the songs that Prom attendees will remember for years to come. No one will be happy with all of the selections that are chosen. To help create a list of songs and dances that will appeal to more people, variety is important.

It's impossible to cater to everyone's musical likes and dislikes. The thing that will be remembered about Prom 2009, at future class reunions, is whether people had fun or were bored to death. Creating a list of songs that includes the most current hits, some not so current hits, oldies and the tried and true (very cheesy) dance songs that are just fun will help get people on the dance floor. There is nothing more boring than going to a dance where no one dances!

Some of the music that teenagers are requesting for 2009 Prom are more fast paced dance songs. The kids attending Prom want to have a good time and don't want to be bogged down with a lot of slow songs. Some of the suggestions that have been made are:

Current

Give It To Me by Madonna

Just Dance by Lady Gaga

Don't Stop the Music by Rihanna

Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) by Beyonce

Oldies

Shout by The Beatles

Twist and Shout by The Beatles

Cheesy

Macarena by Los Del Rio

YMCA by The Village People

Electric Boogie (The Electric Slide) by Marcia Griffiths

Cha Cha Slide by Mr. C

Requested Anonymously

The Chicken Dance composed by Werner Thomas

Hokey Pokey by Larry LaPrise

Prom 2009 should be a night that captures the spirit of the class. This is a night that will be remembered. The memories that are made at the Prom will last a lifetime. The music that is chosen for this special event will be remembered for a long time.

Chosing songs that are obviously the favorites of those on a committee will not be enjoyed by most of the attendees and will not be thought of fondly in the future. Maintaining a balance will ensure that more people will participate on the dance floor.

Cheesy songs and dances can help get people on the dance floor!
