Avocado is a common healthy food found in Mexican dishes. Avocado is the main ingredient in Guacamole. Guacamole is found on taco salads, tacos, enchiladas, etc. Although avocado is a delicious and healthy food, the popularity in America has yet to explode. Removing the Pulp
Healthy food is much easier to eat if it is easy to prepare. The edible part of an avocado is the fresh green pulp found inside. Some people remove this healthy food from it's skin with a spoon. You can do this, but the avocado skin will easily break and can become rather messy. Instead, remove the pulp with a cooling rack. Simply place the avocado face down on a cooling rack and press down firmly. Be sure to catch the pulp with a bowl under the cooling rack.

Fresh Color
Healthy food has a tendency to turn strange colors when exposed to oxygen. To remedy this, spray the avocado pulp with lemon juice once it has been squished from it's skin. This prevents your healthy food from looking like a gooey brown mess.

Soften an Avocado
Avocados have a tendency to be hard even if they are ripe. Healthy food doesn't always cooperate with the cook. If you need help softening a hard avocado, put it into your microwave. On medium power, heat the healthy food for 45 seconds. This microwave stunt should do the trick without over ripening your healthy food. You want avocados soft without over ripening.

Avocados have something other healthy foods do not: monounstaturated fat. The fat contained in avocados can be extremely high, however, this is the healthy food type of fat. You should reduce the amount of unhealthy fat that enters your body and replace it with healthy foods such as avocados.
