These days using a computer is a requirement for most jobs. Children are even beginning to learn computer basics as early as kindergarten. You can start teaching your child the basic working of a computer before they get to kindergarten. Using a computer mouse also improves hand and eye coordination. A great way to develop these skills is by allowing your child to play computer games. Below are some of the best downloadable games that not only test your child's brain but are great fun as well. If you do not want your child to use your home computer, try looking into purchasing a used computer that you can get for relatively cheap. If that is not an option, they make toy laptops that are pretty close to the real thing. Barbie and Leap Frog is just a couple of the manufactures that make these toys. Most of the kid's laptops have games as well as learning programs on them and are virtually indestructible. Try these games for hours of entertainment for your preschooler and yourself!

1. Diner Dash

Diner Dash takes you into the world of food service. You play Flo the waitress who is working to help get her friends restaurant off the ground. As the player you seat patrons, take orders, deliver food, and clear tables with lots of different trials along the way. My daughter loved this game and was able to play it by herself. She could not beat it by herself but that did not matter to her.

2. Carrie the Caregiver

This is great for doll lovers. You are Carrie who is the caregiver in a nursery. Your child has to warm bottles, feed the babies, change diapers, and dispose of dirty diapers. As you move through the levels you also get a baby mobile and a pacifier to sooth upset babies. Your little mommy will love taking care of these little babies.

3. Cake Mania

Have an aspiring chef? This game is perfect. You play a pasty chef trying to get her business off the ground. As the customer comes in, you hand them a menu. The order one of four cake shapes and one of four icing colors. Later rounds allow for all types of cake decorations and items to help keep your customers happy.

Great games! I love Sebran for my three year old. She loves to play memory and ABC rain on there. I haven't let her play these other games but I am sure she will love them. Great article.
