Acknowledgements: I would like to dedicate this book to all the people who have been my inspiration and who have been instrumental in my growth. There are not enough words to express how grateful I am. This is also dedicated to my friend, Leslie, who passed away on November 7, 2002. You are dearly missed.

FOR YOU

To see

To know

To feel

The pain.

My heart breaks for you

For release

For peace

For comfort

For tears

For joy

My heart wishes for you

My love

Grace

Care

Listening ear

Empathy

Hugs

A hand to hold

These I give to you.

CLOUDS

Puffy and white,

they make you want to take flight.

Cotton and fluff

Trying to sit on one would be tough,

The shape of each and every one is unique

Like the way God made you so sweet.

Sometimes,

I lay down on my back

And try to keep track,

But I cannot be exact

How many there are, in fact.

Sometimes the clouds turn gray,

And then it starts to rain.

When the sun starts to fall in such a fashion,

They can turn pink, red,

Or a kind of purple passion.

I am glad I have found this release;

It is a good way to increase

My love for creation and imagination;

What a cause for celebration!

So,

I will stay here for another minute,

And save my worries for another day,

Feeling so thankful that the clouds are

Here to stay.

SOMEDAY

They say that patience is a virtue,

Could this be true?

For me, though,

Waiting can be a hard thing to do.

God reveals His plans in His own time,

It makes it even harder to wait when life is unkind.

But,

I know that my Father cares for me.

If I give him my burdens,

He alone can set me free.

I can always rely on his strength and caring,

His love for me is never failing.

Hold my hand as we pray,

And He will take our fears away.

BEAUTIFUL

Eyes of blue,

Hair of gold,

Skin so fair

Most beautiful indeed.

Even more beautiful

Is your spirit,

Your soul,

Your heart,

Your courage

And your love.

Afraid

Used

Broken

Shattered

These are beautiful too.

Beautiful because God uses them

Transforms you

To make you even more beautiful

Most beautiful indeed

You are most wonderfully made.

CONTINUALLY

The candle reminded me of you today

when times were good.

Now,

it seems strange to me sometimes that

so many things remind me of you.

I wish those things would go away.
