Willow,
Watch over my beloved warrior
As he slumbers beneath you.
Wrap your leaves over his head
As it rests on your trunk.
Remember to whisper my words
Of benediction over him and
Let your rustling soothe him to sleep.
While he is with you,
Weave a spell of transcendent love
Over his relaxed form.
Let the words write themselves
Into the caverns of his heart
Where he has reserved a place for me.
When midnight falls,
Wrap him within your womb and
Remind him that he is safe and secure.
And when he awakens in the morning,
Send him refreshed and ready to meet
The coming day.

Prayer to the Willow

The willow is my favorite kind of tree.
