Mark Martin is not only a successful Nascar driver, he has had a fascinating life. Martin Martin and Roush Racing were usually heard in the same sentence. Several times in his career, Mark Martin has declared that he will retire from the racing sport. 2007 starts a new chapter in Mark Martin's racing career as he leaves Roush Racing and goes to Ginn Racing team. It will be interesting to watch Mark Martin and see how the season unfolds being with a different crew, different car and new owner.Who is Mark Martin other then just another Nascar race driver? The majority of time when one sees Mark Martin in interviews, even after having lost a race or having been wrecked, Martin wears a smile. He is a patient man that does not hold grudges or get into the verbal and physical confrontations that can arise in Nascar racing. One of the qualities that many fans admire is Mark Martin's ability to accept accidents and second places as part of the Nascar racing sport. It is not surprising that Mark Martin's favorite book is the Bible. His favorite speedway is Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Mark Martin is a living legend in Nextel Cup Racing. His racing career is one of the most successful in Nascar racing. Martin has made Nascar history with some amazing stats. Mark Martin breathes and lives the sport of racing. He began his racing days at the young age of 15 years old.
One thing that Mark Martin has in common with many fans is television. Yes, Mark Martin is a fan of the television series, "Lost". As a child, Martin's favorite toy growing up was his toy tractor trailer. With his passion for life and love of children, it does not come as a surprise that Mark Martin's charity of choice is the Victory Junction Gang Camp. The Victory Junction Gang Camp is for terminally ill children and was a dream of Adam Petty. After Adam Petty's death, the Petty family helped to make Adam's vision for the camp to become a reality.
