Cookies serve a lot of purpose on a computer, but sometimes they can slow down a computer if there are too many. So what do you do with these cookies? Delete them. How do you delete cookies? Well there are two different ways that are both easy in which I can explain to you. But first there are some things I should explain about the cookies. There are many misconceptions about computer cookies floating around the internet, so let me clear them up for you.

Computer cookies are not forms of spyware or adware, computer cookies do not cause pop-ups to occure on your computer, and cookies are also not a special form of worm, trojan, or virus. Computer cookies were essentially created to remember a users "preferences" when navigating a web site. For example, if someone were on Amazon.com and searching for a specific product, cookies would enable Amazon.com to list other items that withold the same properties and use as the original product you were searching for.

Computer cookies can also be used for tracking methods to see what websites the user have visited recently.

Although cookies aren't potentially dangerous to your computer, cookies do run through servers and domains. Cookies also may contain some minor computer information which can be stolen by other people. Deleting your cookies overall is a good idea in my mind to keep yourself secure. You can also put security settings onto your cookies via your intert browser options.
