I know we all love Austin, Texas. How could we not? There is an amazing lively bar and music scene. Let's not for get the adventurous outdoor activities that Austin has to offers, but there are fun activities just outside of Austin too. Here are a few fun daytrips just in Austin's backyard.Love Creek Orchards
The Love Creek Orchards is a wonderful place to take a day trip with the family. Not only do they have a wonderful orchards, but they also have a Bigtooth Maple nursery. It is wonderful to visit in fall and see all of the changing colors of the leaves. If you fall in love with these beautiful trees like I did, they have some for sale. The Love Creek Orchard has other fun activities, like their annual pumpkin patch. Journey through their sea of plump pumpkins for that perfect one to make a ghoul. You can also visit The Apple Store, formerly Cider Mill & Country Store. They have delicious treats and gifts for everyone.

The Exotic Resort Zoo
The Exotic Resort Zoo is a wonderful place for a family trip. Where else could you interact with so many rare animals? The Exotic Resort Zoo provides a sanctuary for several rare and endangered species, giving them a safe place to live and increase their numbers. The Zoo is located on 137 wooden acres with several small lakes and creeks for the animals to enjoy.
The Exotic Resort Zoo has daily guided safari tours, giving guests the opportunity to see over 500 animals, including over 80 species. Guest are even given treats to feed the animals. The Zoo has two petting zoos, giving you the opportunity to pet baby deer, elk, llama, kangaroo, and many other animals.
Guided tours at the Zoo are available daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The last tour leaves at 5:00 PM.
