To any newly pregnant woman child birth may hold some great fears, especially if you are a woman who is normally greatly afraid of needles or pain. I will tell my experience so that any woman who reads it may have an idea of what to expect. I did use pain medication during the birth, an epidural and a shot of Demerol, and everything turned out beautifully for my daughter and I. Also, I will tell about my stay in the hospital after I gave birth and what I went through once I returned home. Some things were painful and some things were not. Experiences are different from one woman to the next, but I will talk about mine so that other women may get an idea of what is to come.

Towards the end of my pregnancy I was walking around while at the same time being four centimeters dilated. Maybe it was from all the walking I did. I was young, nineteen years old, and it was summer. Everyday I cleaned and walked around town getting plenty of exercise. I could have gone into labor at any time. At my last doctor's appointment I was told by my doctor that being four centimeters dilated and not going into labor could allow bacteria or infection to make its way to my unborn baby so it would be best if I was induced to prevent this. Of course in the best interest of my unborn child I decided to be induced three day later. It was actually nice to know for sure when I would be having my baby instead of worrying when I would happen to go into labor. I would not have to worry if my boyfriend would be at home or at work or worry about wear I would happen to be at the time. It just gave me alittle relief.

I have had 4 and I agree, child birth is the greatest! I had 3 c-sections (in my opinion the easiest way to have kids) and one vaginal birth. I wish mine was done after 4 pushes. I'm definately jealous!
