Elvis Presley the King of Rock and Roll passed away on August 16, 1977 in the bathroom of his mansion "Graceland" home in Memphis, Tennessee. He was 42 years old. The phenomenon of Elvis though has never died. It just continues to grow. Here it is almost exactly 30 years later and Elvis Presley still makes the news.

The 2007 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue is a music theme, lots of different music themes will be featured such as Ohio's Rock and Roll Hall of fame. Also included are models that are photographed at Elvis Presley's Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee. So once again even though Elvis Presley has been gone for 30 years he is making news or making sports in this case, when Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue comes out.

Also in other news concerning Elvis Presley, fans of Elvis Presley will be able to go to Honolulu and see a statue of The King. The Elvis Statue will be wearing his flare - legged costume that be came famous in the 70's. The browse statue will be marking the site of his historic 1973 Elvis; Aloha from Hawaii Concert. The statue was commissioned to be created by TV Land and MTV. The statue will be unveiled in July 2007 in front of the Neal Blaisdell Center.
Elvis Presley is loved by many in Hawaii, as his movie Blue Hawaii was filmed there, he had a 1961 benefit there to raise money for the USS Arizona Memorial and in 1973 Elvis Presley made history in Hawaii because his 1973 concert there was the first ever musical event sent around the world by satellite. The live album that was created from this concert has gone platinum five times.

Elvis Presley may have left this world but his music and memories live on forever. Whether it be because of albums that still sell very impressive numbers today or because of Sports Illustrated doing a photo shoot there, or most impressive the browse statue that will be in Hawaii for fans old and new to visit and remember back to a time when life was simpler and a man came into the music scene forever changing it and creating a phenomenon that will never die.
