Love is better the second time around. That's what the lyrics of a once popular song said. I dunno if it's all the illusion of the lyricist or if it's always true. Let me tell y'all my story and see if it fits into that category fer y'all.

I was eighteen when I first wed the woman of my dreams. (It's my illusion don't mess with my head) She was very attractive, warm, fun lovin', all in all a sweet young girl. Twenty-seven years later we had three children, a home, a couple of cars, all the stuff a established couple have after that amount of time has transpired. When my ex-wife asked me to git out I thought this was the worst thing that could happen to a nice guy like me. I was wrong. Don't git me wrong the divorce wasn't fun by any definition. The six months or so livin' with my daughter wasn't fun either. I recognize today that I needed to live through this challenge to become the person I am today.

I wanted a woman who would be my partner in every aspect of my life. God put such a special person in my life when I was ready to be her partner. I call her my gift from God. I know I couldn't have found such a jewel of a person had I searched the world from trop to bottom. When things git tough (Ya'll know they will) remember if it's God's plan it will be the best thing that could've ever happened to you. My bride has taught me this lesson with an example of love every day.

My Queen of the Goddesses is a bit older than me if ya consider the calendar. If you look at the person she has taught me how to be young again. She not only put a spring in my step but music in my heart. This special angel from God has taught me about love makin' that begins days or weeks before we ever git into bed. She has taught me the dedication it takes to become a musician. Even if you're like me and over fifty before you begin to learn. No I won't be another Earl Scruggs but I'm makin' music that's pleasin' to me. The next step is developin' the confidence to play in public. My Queen is slowly moldin' my talent to my desire. My desire today is to pick a little, grin a little, and bring a bit of the joy of banjo music to those that are around me.
