Tousled Hair Looks for Long and Short Hairstyles
A Step by Step Guide
Tousled hair seems to be all the rage with the Hollywood starlets, as they spend big bucks going to exclusive salons to have their hair played with by expensive stylists. For the rest of us who cannot afford or do not desire to shell out all that cash there are a few different ways we can achieve the same look. Tousled hair can be achieved right in your home today and is perfect for any summer gathering.Tousled Hair #1 (long hair)
Lather up your hair, rinse, lather, and rinse once more. Towel dry your hair to remove the excess water, allow it to air dry until it is just damp. Spray your hair with Aussie Hair Insurance, which is in my opinion the best leave-in conditioner. Then comb hair out and place it in several braids until it is dry.
If you have long hair you may need help with the braiding but if you do it yourself, as I often do, start near the top and work down. When you do a section pin it or toss it to the other side of your head to keep it away from where you are working. Allow hair to remain in the braids until it is dry and separate it with your fingers. Do not brush or comb it out or you will lose the tousled look of this hairstyle.
Tousled Hair #2 (short hair)
Lather and rinse your hair before going to bed, and towel dry the excess water from it. Go ahead and comb or brush out your hair, go ahead and spray in a leave in conditioner at this point. You will also want to spray in some mousse or curl enhancing spray into your hair at this point. Twist hair in a circular motion, secure with Bobbie pins, and allow this to dry overnight. In the morning remove the pins, unwrap the hair, and run your fingers through it.
Tousled Hair #3 (any length)
In the summer time when many of us go swimming and are afraid to get our hair wet, this is the perfect time to achieve the tousled look. Do not be afraid to get your hair wet next time you are swimming, after you are out of the water spray it with Aussie Hair Assurance or another leave-in conditioner. Use your fingers to comb through your hair to separate the pieces or comb if desired one time and allow it to air dry.
