A well typed up resume is one factor that an employer can look at when hiring someone. The resume can reflect the type of person you are. Some characteristics they look at are neatness, organization and spelling. The following are some pointers on how to write a resume. Then I will end the article with an example of a resume. ·Your resume should be typed in 12-point size and normal setting. This will make your resume look clean and neat in appearance.
·Your resume should be typed on high quality white paper. Other types of colors don't look as professional as the color white.
·Try to keep your resume to one page. Employers don't want to spend hours reading a lengthy resume.
·Have your full name typed at the top of the resume.
·A few spaces below your name, in bold and capital letters type the word education. Then type what degree or education you have followed by the name of the college, state and year of education.
·In capital and bold letters type skills and experience. Below that type the name of the place, city, state and year you participated. Then below that type the title of your position by having it underlined. Underneath that in bullet point's type specifically what you have done. Each activity that you have done should be listed in short and specific terms. Try to start each activity with an adjective this will help you keep the sentence short. You can also include any volunteer activity that you have done or are doing.
·If you have a long list of jobs that you have worked at just list positions that are most related to the job you are applying for.
·You can include memberships to organizations and rewards received that would be related to the job you are applying for. This is only if you have enough room on your resume.
·End the resume with references available upon request. This way you can avoid a whole list of references with your resume unless they ask for it at a later time.
