Central New Hampshire Ice Cream Shops

Setting the clocks ahead and the latest melting trend has finally brought the thought of spring back into most people's heads. And with the thoughts of spring come the thoughts of ice cream and plenty of it. So where do you go for ice cream if you live in Central New Hampshire? As a connoisseur of fine ice creams Doc has that answer and will provide it to you in a list from Doc's favorites to Doc's least favorites.

1. Ben and Jerry's of Meredith, New Hampshire

A bit pricey but oh so worth it, this creamy sensation is just so sinfully good you will need to check into the local church or synagogue after leaving. One way to beat the pricey ness is to check out the inside service area of the ice cream stand for coupons. They often have some laying about in the center display area of this room. Another way to beat the pricey ness of this spot is to wait for their special customer appreciation days. For example, on Mother's Day moms get a free ice cream cone. Just bring your child along as proof. Better yet, if you are pregnant on Mother's Day you get two free ice cream cones. Check the outside billboard, located on the main road headed into Wear's Beach, for customer appreciation day. On this day all customers get a free ice cream cone. Free samples are given out every day so don't be afraid to ask for one. This little gem is located at the intersection in the center of Meredith New Hampshire, in the Mill Falls Marketplace.

2. The Common Man Deli of Ashland, New Hampshire

Cheap and sinful are the words of the day for this hidden gem. Located in the Mobil Station just off of exit 24 on I93, this location has a wonderful deli on one side and an amazing ice cream shop on the other. Until 5pm on select days of the week you can get two scoops of homemade ice cream for only $1. Better yet is that there is no limit on how much you can buy. I usually ask for a few to-go containers to bring home for later. To check for the days this special will be in effect this summer, look for Alex's billboard out front of the station.

3. The Squam Lakes Resort of Holderness, New Hampshire
