Online surveys are entertaining, and they offer a way to learn about new products and share your opinions about existing products. I participate in online surveys through several companies and I do enjoy them most of the time. They are not, however, a significant source of income. I see advertisements on the job search websites that in some way or another indicate you can get paid to take surveys from home. I visited a couple of these websites just to see what they were referring to, and found that it requires some sort of payment to learn how to make money doing surveys. The sites claim that they will send you the training and information to get started for a fee. Some even claim that you can make anywhere from $300.00 or more every week doing surveys. Wow, that sounds like a great way to earn extra cash doesn't it. In reality, online surveys rarely compensate a consumer in the form of cash in your pocket. Most offer opportunities for sweepstakes, or rewards that you can redeem for discounts on merchandise. One company does offer cash compensation for doing surveys online, but it is only $2.00 most of the time, and they will deposit the money into a pay pal account for you. I have been doing surveys for two years for them, and have a pay pal balance of $20.00 from them.
