The Republican Party's History of Coddling and Protecting Foreign Terrorists

Republican liars from Trent "Wouldn't America Have Been Great If We'd Elected A Racist" Lott to Lindsey "A Blowjob is a Far Worse Impeachable Offense Than Fixing Intelligence Reports" Graham moved to block debate on ramping up the Iraq war by suggesting that to
do so will be to coddle terrorists and weaken the United States. Well, maybe we should listen to the Republicans this time around. After all, if there's one thing Republicans know about, it's coddling terrorists.

Following the taking of several hundred Americans hostage in Iran, the official policy of the United States was anti-Iran. So intense was this policy that during the 1980s Pres. Reagan and some guys named Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld were sending money to Iraq, along with technological know-how and chemical weapons. Earlier this decade when Saddam Hussein no longer had the weapons that his father had sold him, Dubya called Saddam Hussein the most dangerous person in the world. This is pretty odd, considering that throughout the 80s, when Hussein was killing thousands upon thousands of his own people-with the full knowledge of guys named Cheney and Rumsfeld-Iraq was not even on the list of countries that were known to be sponsors of terrorism. Not only did Cheney and Rumsfeld-and Bush and Reagan-know that Saddam was using chemical weapons, they also knew that Saddam was giving protection to such high profile terrorist masterminds as Abu Nidal and Abu Abbas.
