Coldwater Torres is on Fire at Phoenix Greyhound Park

Coldwater Torres is one of Phoenix Greyhound Park's brightest stars, a racer that rarely relinquishes the lead once it has established it. Coldwater Torres has put together winning streaks of five, six, and seven races since he first began his career at Phoenix last April. The 72 pound fawn male has not left Phoenix's highest grade, AA, since landing there last June and already has one stakes title to his credit, the 2006 Juvenile Championship. Coldwater Torres has run in 42 lifetime races at the Arizona track, winning thirty one of those and running second four others, coming in worse than fourth place only three times.

A son of WW Time Warp and Hey Bell Dancer, Coldwater Torres was born on November 17th, 2004. When he was only seventeen months only, he schooled officially for the first time at Phoenix Greyhound Park, finishing second on April 10th, 2006 in a six dog race. His next time out he trounced six other greyhounds in 30.65 over the 5/16ths of a mile course and after that he took his third and last schooling effort by a couple of lengths. Coldwater Torres made his first Phoenix start that counted on April 21st, going off an overwhelming favorite at odds of 1-1 from the five box in a Maiden contest.

Less than 31 seconds later, Coldwater Torres had his first Phoenix victory as he breezed to a six length decision over his competition. In grade J, he drew a one hole and promptly flew to a six and a half length win in 30.79. His grade D win was easily his most impressive so far as he churned out to a huge lead and kept widening it, crossing the line a full eleven lengths in front of his foes. Things got much harder when Coldwater Torres advanced to the next level on the grading ladder, but he managed to hold on to an early advantage by a head to make it to B.
