For those of you who are sick of eating fast food everyday, try grabbing something new and exciting from The Sultan.

The Sultan is a small Middle Eastern restaurant located off the Atlanta Highway between the Georgia Square Mall and Best Buy. I never even noticed it was there until a friend recommended

it to me, so I decided that I had to check it out for myself.

When I walked inside the wonderful smell of fresh bread filled the air. I was immediately greeted by a very friendly host and she led me to a seat right in the middle of the restaurant.

I noticed that the place was decorated like Americans would expect a Middle Eastern Restaurant to be, but that didn't detract from the experience. I was also surprised to see that the restaurant was nearly empty. The only noise was some upbeat Middle Eastern music.

I gazed at the menu for a few minutes. I had no idea what to order. I had never eaten Middle Eastern food before so it was all new to me. I was anxious to try something new and could not wait for my food to come.

I ended up choosing Chicken Kebab which is pieces of cut up, marinated, grilled chicken on a stick with sliced onions and peppers in between. It was delicious and it smelled wonderful. I liked how they marinated the chicken even though it didn't really do much for the flavor. It just tasted like regular chicken, except for some spices sprinkled on top that gave it some flavor.

A side of white rice, salad and pita bread also came along with the meal. Pita bread is a round, wheat flatbread, made with yeast. It tasted incredibly fresh, like it just came out of the oven that morning.

I didn't particularly care for the salad. It was covered in a strange tangy dressing that had too much garlic for my liking. It didn't really appeal to me, but everything else was really great.

Once I was finished eating I headed to the register to pay. The total came to $10.53, including a drink, which is not bad considering the amazing quality. I also noticed that The Sultan is not just a restaurant, but inside there is also a bakery and a small store. Before leaving I decided to check them out.
