Contrary to recent winter ice and snow storms around the country, spring is on its way in less than 60 days. There are many things associated with spring; house hunting, house cleaning, house selling and house expansion , better know as getting married.

I have attended and participated in my share of wedding ceremonies and receptions and have discovered that they are just as diverse as there are people in our world. There were some weddings that were extremely expensive and went as far as renting a white horse and carriage, then there were others that were simple, elegant back yard parties with mainly family and a few friends.

Every woman should have the kind of wedding she always dreamed of and she can have it on a budget. The main purpose of joining your heart and soul with someone is because you love that person and you have common goals and aspirations in life. Your wedding ceremony itself has nothing to do with the party, the food or the people. Having family and friends present is simply to allow them the privilege of sharing your sacred union. The bottom line; it's all about you and your betrothed.

Some people view the word "budget" as a bad word, but it's not! Shopping or planning on a budget does not mean that you have to do it without taste or style. It simply means you have gathered your own resources in order to save you a few extra dollars.

Following are some tips on how to plan your wedding on a budget.

1. Vision - The bible says without a vision the people perish. Get out a piece of plan white paper and draw the concept of how you would like to see your wedding. For instance there are some people that see their wedding on a remote island with a couple of friends and a minister, while others see a dining hall with 500 guests. Write the vision in order to give yourself a physical picture and then go from there.
