Blubster - A Great, Free Source for Music Downloads - No Membership or Fees!
Do you love REAL FREE MUSIC? I loved Napster, until people started getting sued over using it! Now it costs a minimum of like $14 every month to use! Thankfully there's some pretty cool FREE places that you can get music downloads. I just came across this newer site called Blubster. I
have no idea if they have any affiliation with Napster or if they just decided to take a similar name, but wither way, blubster is sweet. You can download the program in abouit 3 minutes. Once you have downloaded the main program (which is really, truly 100% free of charge) you can begin uploading or downloading music, which is also really, truly FREE!
I really love Blubster because unlike most of the download sites they actually have every song (even the rare ones) that you're looking for. Before finding Blubster I had tried out Sony Connect and some other programs that only cost $1 or so per download with no membership. These programs are really good if you're into super main-stream music. But I had tons of problems finding b-sides, techno songs, rap songs, etc.
Blubster is really easy to use too, all you have to do is search for an artist or a song and it'll instantly produce a list of shareware. Then you just go through the list and find the song or file type you want to download. The majority of the files are in MP3 format. But even if you don't have an MP3 player as of yet, you can still download them and listen to them on your computer until you get one.
Blubster is also cool because the music downloads really fast. I estimate that an average 3 minute song take no more than a minute to a minute-and-a-half to download. And you can listen to the entire song before or while it's downloading.
Another neat thing about this site is that you can create your own playlists and your downloads are stored on the site so you can re-download them if needed.
Thus far I have only experienced very minor problems - way less than Napster! The only issues I have had are rare and involve songs not completely downloading, but it's not a big deal since they are stored. All you need to do is just go back to your list and restart the download.
