Transforming existing clear glass Lamp Base into stained glass works of art is an easy craft project that almost anyone can do. I often find super affordable, but plain clear glass lamp bases that are just crying out to be customized with the look of stained glass.

You can make this simple stained glass Lamp Base for your own home or even as a fun hostess gift.

Making this stained glass Lamp Base should take you about 2 hours tops and can be completed on any size lamp base!

To Transformed Your Clear Glass Lamp Base into Stained Glass Art You Will Need:

Peel and stick lead

Clear glass Lamp Base

Stained Glass Paint

Paint Brushed

Scissors

To start this craft project you need to decide on a pattern. Your stained glass pattern will determine what stained glass paint colors you need to buy.

Measure the clear glass Lamp Base you are going to transform. Mark this space out on a piece of drawing paper and sketch out your design. If you have markers I suggest coloring in areas the colors you would like them to be. The more specific you are in the planning the less room for mistakes.

Once you have established your stained glass design you need to transfer it to your Lamp Base.

You will need to do this free hand. I recommend drawing on the lamp base with a dry erase marker, so you can remove any mistakes as needed.

Painting the stained glass is the next step. Use a natural bristle artist paintbrush to fill in your colors. Work up to the edges in each block of color on the lamp base. You will be covering the rough edges with peel and stick lead, so you don't have to make them absolutely perfect.

Once your stained glass Lamp Base is completely painted you need to let it dry completely. While your paint is drying your can work on your peel and stick lead.

This is a great way to make your stained glass look real on the lamp base.

Once you lead is cut you can install it. Carefully apply your peel and stick lead over all of the edges, just like real stained glass.
