How to Turn a Birch Branch into a Towel Bar

Love rustic cabin décor even if you don't have the luxury of living in a cabin? This simple Birch Branch towel bar is a great way to add some rustic cabin decor storage in a bathroom. You can install this simple Birch Branch towel bar in minutes and you can even let the kids help.

To make this simple Rustic Cabin Décor Birch Branch towel bar you will need:

1 Birch Branch Power Drill

½ inch drill bit

2 L Brackets

2 ½ inch wood screws

2 screws with wall anchors

Level

Duct tape

The first step is to lay your Birch Branch out on a flat work surface. I like to lay the "front" of the Birch Branch down. Now, lay a piece of duct tape across each end of the Birch Branch. This will hold it in place while you are predrill holes for the screws.

Drill each hole about 1/2 inch deep into the Rustic Cabin Décor Birch Branch towel bar. Do not drill through the Birch Branch. You will need one hole on each end of the bat. Make sure they are level, or it will make hanging the Birch Branch towel bar difficult.

Now, install your L brackets on the Birch Branch. Use the short wood screws to do this. I find it best to leave the Birch Branch duct taped down. Use a hand held screw driver to slowly twist the screws in. Now, you want your L brackets to face down, so that when hung on the wall the Birch Branch is resting on top of the L bracket. Choose larger L brackets if you think you need a lot of space behind your rustic cabin décor towel bar.

Now, hold your Birch Branch towel bar up where you want to hang it in the bathroom. Place a level on top to make sure it is level. Now, mark a dot through the L bracket holes. Predrill a hole into the bathroom wall for the well anchor to insert into.

Now, insert the plastic wall anchor. Hold the L brackets and Birch Branch in place, Use your hand held screw driver insert the matching screw though the L bracket hole and into the wall anchor.

You are finished! You can hang towels, hand cloths, and even magazines on this simple Rustic Cabin Décor Birch Branch towel bar.
