Vintage Army Blanket Headboard for a Boy's Bedroom

Vintage Army Blankets are such a great source of super sturdy and warm material. I also love that awesome vintage hunter green color that most army blankets are. You can use a vintage army blanket to make a unique and cozy headboard for a boy's bedroom or even a bachelor pad in no time for very litt
le money.

Army Blankets are still so popular that you do not have to limit yourself to searching for vintage Army Blankets in good shape. I find new Army Blanket online as well as at the Army Supply Store.

Making a Vintage Army Blanket upholstered headboard is an easy weekend project you can make to completely transform any ordinary bedroom into a rustic and manly space.

Use your favorite Vintage Army Blanket to make this simple upholstered headboard. If you like to collect Vintage Army Blanket then you should have an awesome headboard.

You can complete this Vintage Army Blanket project in one day, for less than $80.

The cost will depend on how pricey your Vintage or New Army Blanket is. To save money making your headboard I recommend using a your own Vintage Army Blankets to cover the headboard.

To Make an Upholstered Vintage Army Blanket Head Board You Will Need:

MDF (1 or 3, 6, or 9 Pieces, sizes described below)

Jig Saw

Foam

Chenille Blanket

Staple Gun

Screws

Flat L brackets

Spray adhesive

The first step is to cut your MDF to size. I recommend letting the professionals at the home improvement store make these cuts for you. They only charge 25 cents a cut!

My measurements are merely recommendations for a Vintage Army Blanket bed headboard. You can easily change the dimensions of this headboard for a twin, full, or king-sized bed based on the size of your bed.

Cut three separate pieces of MDF to these specific measurements (or use 1 large piece):

Measure how wide your bed is.

Now, have the MDF cut to the largest square possible to match the width of your bed. You can always make it larger if your want though! The look is in threes, so three across and three squares up is what we are going for.

You need at least three of these, but you can make it as wide or as tall as you want.
