AFI Dallas International Film Festival

March 22nd-April 1st Target and Founding Sponsor Victory Park presents the American Film Institute (AFI) Dallas International Film Festival.

They are seeking energetic, enthusiastic and devoted volunteers to help out with this year's event featuring over 150 screenings at a number of venues across the Dallas, TX metroplex as well as red carpet premieres, private parties, and numerous celebrities in attendance.

American Airlines is the official sponsor along with Neiman Marcus, Jones Day, DG Fast Channel, and One Arts Plaza. Festival sponsors include Aquafina, Chili's, HDNet, Richards/Gravelle, RBMM, The Richards Group, Dallas Victory, Post Asylum, Reel FX, Temerlin Consulting, and others. The Dallas Film Commission is the cultural supporter.

Movies will be shown at The Majestic Theatre, The Landmark Inwood and Magnolia Theatres, The Angelika Film Centre, The Crow Collection of Asian Art, Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, Nasher Sculpture Center, One Arts Plaza, W Hotel, Victory Park, Victory Plaza, Southern Methodist University, and family-friendly outdoor venues to be announced. Films will range from shorts to documentaries.

The Angelika won the 2005 Best Movie Theatre Award by the Dallas Observer. The Angelika is devoted to independent and specialty films.

Michael Cain (not the actor), is CEO and artistic director of the festival and an American Film Institute graduate. He was previously founder and executive director of the non-profit Deep Ellum Film, Music, Arts and Noise which produces the Deep Ellum Film Festival and various outdoor screening events including the Lone Star Drive-In Addison and Dallas; the Pasadena Cinema in the Park; and the Santa Monica Drive-In at the Pier.

AFI is a national institute providing leadership in screen education and the recognition and celebration of excellence in the art of film, TV, and digital media.

Positions also available for the Dallas Festival include box office operator, on site and special event producers, theatre managers, and transportation coordinator. Other positions will be posted within the next few weeks.
