Kitchen Cleaning Made Easy

The kitchen is the primary room used in most homes. People spend a great deal of time in the kitchen preparing meals and cleaning up. Cleaning the kitchen can be easy when one follows this guide.

Kitchen Cleaning #1: Keep a Sink of Soapy Water

Kitchen cleaning is easiest if one keeps a sink of soapy water while cooking and for after meals cleaning. When cooking, put the cooking pans into the water to soak while eating the meal. After the meal, dinner dishes can go in the sink as well until ready to wash or placed into the dishwasher.

Have one tall, plastic drinking cup for silverware. When done with silverware, place in the cup to soak. When ready to wash or load the dishwasher, all the silverware is together.

Kitchen Cleaning #2: While Cooking Wipe Counters

While cooking wipe counters. It is easiest to clean the kitchen while the drips, spills and spatters are still fresh. At the end of the day, the amount of kitchen counter space that needs to be cleaned will be minimized and save time.

Kitchen Cleaning #3: Avoid Microwave Disasters

Microwaves take a great deal of time when cleaning a kitchen. For many homes, the microwave is the most used appliance in the kitchen. Cover foods with plastic wrap, wax paper, paper towel or saucer while cooking them in the microwave. Covering food will decrease spatters on the microwave walls and reduce cleaning time in the kitchen.

Remove the rotating tray from the kitchen microwave daily and rinse with hot, soapy water. If the tray is not cleaned each day, spatters continue to cook and even burn on this tray.

When the microwave needs cleaning, fill up a microwave safe glass with water and a tablespoon of lemon juice. Microwave until the water boils. Let the glass stand in the microwave for one to three minutes. The steam and heat from the lemon juice water will loosen dried and cooked spatters on the microwave walls. Simply wipe down the microwave and the cleaning is done in just a few minutes.

Kitchen Cleaning #4: Spot Mop Kitchen Floor
