How to Procrastinate like a Pro when Writing a Paper for School

As a senior in a very demanding High School, I have learned a thing or two about procrastinating. When someone asks me; "Have you started your paper yet?", I can usually reply with a proud and shocking; "No," Even if the essay is due the next day. Because of this, I am known as one of the biggest procrastinators in New York City; able to write whole papers in a matter of hours. Many people ask me; "How do you do it?" Well here is a How To on writing papers in a very short amount of time.

Research Early

No matter how long you wait to actually write a paper, the research must be done beforehand. Without evidence, a paper is nothing but opinions and falsified facts. There is no way to get around doing the research for a paper early, and if you wait to do that at the last second, it is already too late. Having the research done ahead of time will provide you with a foundation for the essay, long before you even think about putting your words on paper.

Have a Thesis/Idea

This can be done the day your plan to write your paper or the night before. The thesis of the paper is the structure and meat of it. A thesis will outline your argument, and allow the rest of the paper to expand on it. This usually has to be thought out long before a paper can even be started, but it is possible to create a thesis in a matter of minutes. It all depends on how much knowledge you a;ready have about your topic.

Start Stroking Keys

Nothing can be written unless you start writing. Start stroking keys and putting sentences to paper. This will get your creative juices flowing and eventually put you in a "groove" as I like to call it. Once you start writing the paper, there's no telling how fast you can go. Just keep stroking those keys and you'll be writing pages in no time. You just need to get started.
