Tips and Tricks to Survive Your Second Year of Motherhood

As a mother of triplets, I have made it a goal to find easier ways to perform my daily routines which revolve mostly around parenting three infants. I have read the limited amount of resources pro
vided on parenting multiples, and have watched many of the documentaries on famous cable stations, however, many resources do not provide tips and tricks on how to raise three babies. Many tips and tricks provided in media sources are focused solely on parenting and raising one baby/infant at a time. Although information I recieved has been beneficial, it also had to be modified when dealing with more than one child of the same age. In most cases, parents believe that the first year is the hardest, however, when raising triplets, it can become much more overwhelming in the second year.

During the first year of raising multiples, it is very difficult getting even less sleep than the normal one child family. Usually by the end of this year, parents find that they are relieved and less overwhelmed because they are actually beginning to sleep through the night. Parents also consider this a difficult year because they are constantly feeding, changing, and revolving their life around the changes of being new parents. After the first year, many mothers feel at ease when their children can finally eliminate formula and some bottles from their diet. They also are relieved when they can put their child in a high chair and squeeze in a few minutes of alone time while their infant is self-feeding with their fingers. With triplets, however, the second year can be even more challenging than the first.
